Didcot Town are set to give a full debut to former Crawley Town midfielder Josh Huggins when they host Merthyr Tydfil in the Premier Division at Loop Meadow Stadium on Saturday.
Huggins, 20, had been training at Fleet after being who released by the Blue Square Premier side without making a first-team appearance, before Peace made enquiries.
“I gave him a trial on Tuesday in the reserves and he came on for ten minutes against Swindon Supermarine on Wednesday (in a 1-1 draw) and he impressed me,” said Peace, who is without Michael Alexis (hamstring) and Jordan Tabor (knee).
“He should make his full debut on Saturday. When’s he’s on the field he is very aware of what is going on around him.
“We have lacked a creative midfielder since Jack King signed for Farnborough. We need someone to link the forwards and the defence. And with Michael being out it doesn’t give me many options.”
Peace, who adds Martin Brown to the squad, said: “Saturday is an important game, because if we win then that puts us within touching distance of survival, but we can’t relax yet.”
Philip John (back) faces a late test.
Oxford City boss Mike Ford is looking for his side to keep a clean sheet, starting with the trip to Swindon Supermarine.
In the past three games, City have leaked six goals, including three in Tuesday’s draw against Halesowen where they had led 2-0.
“We put on another good performance,” said Ford, who will be without Lee Steele (hamstring) and Mark Bell (back) who were injured against Halesowen.
“But I need to find the right formula for a back four that are going to keep a clean sheet. All four played reasonably well against Halesowen, but collectively we keep making the same mistakes.
“To score nine goals in our last three games and not win is very disappointing.”
Banbury United manager Billy Jeffrey has urged his side to keep up the good work when they travel to Bedford.
He said: “We’re doing well. We now have 48 points and can push on, but we have some very tough games coming up.”
They are without Jack Ashton (shin splints).
North Leigh welcome back Andy McCabe and Chris Allen when they host AFC Hayes in Division 1 South & West.
Last time out North thrashed Bracknell 9-0, and boss Mark Gee expects a tougher time against the Middlesex side.
“They are second bottom and they ship a lot of goals, but also score alot. So they are be dangerous.”
