Oxfordshire youth went down to a narrow 9-8 defeat against Kent on Sunday, despite a much-improved performance.
The Oxon under 18s slid to a 6-3 defeat, with a succession of missed doubles, proving costly.
Scott Smith, George Bishop, and man-of-the-match Sam Lewis were the winners for the visitors.
But there was better news for the under 21 ladies who cruised to a 3-0 victory thanks to successes from Katie Moore, Charlotte Adams, and lady-of-the-match Natasha Meadows.
The under 21 men lost a tight match 3-2.
Their victories came from Dean Lockyer, who weighed in with a 20.97 average, and man-of-the-match Tom Baughan with a 25.47 average.
