The final match in the Oxford Bus AC calendar was fished by six anglers at Fritwell, and although the wind made life pretty uncomfortable, it fished well.
Dougie Robinson completed a hat-trick by winning the last three matches held at Fritwell and his total weight was 242.2.0, including last Sunday’s match.
He fished the pole at 13 metres with maggot, targeting a bit of a feature and the carp just kept on coming. At the final whistle, he weighed in a top weight of 58.2.0.
Anthony Tompkins also fished maggot, this time at ten metres straight out in front of him, ending up with a net of quite large carp and small roach for a second-placed 33.12.0.

Beehive AC kicked off their new season with a warm-up match at Milton Pools, where a sharp wind made life awkward for the 15 matchmen.

Mick Baston had to settle for second with four chub on pole and maggot for 15.4.0, followed by Barry Edwards, who used pole and punch to tempt a 2lb perch and a roach for 2.7.8.
The match raised £58 for charity in memory of Pete Jackson.
The Cherwell at Branson’s Meadow was as clear as a bell and very hard work for the 13 anglers fishing Kidlington’s Last Chance Cup.

The Sutton Courtenay Committee verses Members match on the Otneys was a total disaster for the eight-man field, with only one fish being caught – a tiny gudgeon.
