ASTON Rowant trainer Alan Hill made a flying start to the first King-ston Blount meeting of the season with a quickfire double in the opening two races courtesy of More Trouble and Ball-adeer.
More Trouble made hard work of landing odds of 2-7 in the confined, having to be driven right out by James Tudor to beat Ambrosinni by a length and a half for his fifth course success.
Hill quickly made it two out of two when Balladeer, running in his own red and yellow colours, took the ladies’ open under a fine ride from Gina Andrews.
She always had the 12-year-old well placed before taking up the running from Mister Bertolli at the second last, and her mount galloped clear to pass the post four lengths clear of Home By Midnight.
Mike Tuckey, who farms bet-ween Piddington and Brill, saddled Betavix to take victory in the first division of the open maiden for seven-year-olds and over.
Tuckey’s son, Ben, held the seven-year-old up off the pace before scything through the field after the second-last fence to beat the favourite Boddington Lad by three lengths.
Euro Bleu took advantage of My Way De Solzen’s absence from the men’s open to post a two-lengths succcess in the hands of Philip York.
The trainer-rider went on to complete a double with Dawn Display in the second division of the open maiden for seven-year-olds and over.
Mister Cee Jay, the runner-up, was disqualified after rider Jack Watson failed to weigh in. He was fined £60.
Grantham-based Andrew Corbett trained his first winner when The Camerengo took the intermediate under a terrific ride from Adam Wedge.
Dream Article held on to beat The Nuns Legacy and Bynack Mhor in a finish of necks in the restricted.
Quenzo Conti took the first division of the open maiden for four to seven-year-olds, with the second division going to Easy Dancer.
