Oxford moved to within one point of promotion with a 41-10 home victory over Gosford All Blacks in the BB&O Premier Division.
Duncan Lynchsmith scored Oxford’s opening try after good work from Nick Graham, Jamie Kirkaldy and Tom Johnson, Dom Coe converting.
Kirkaldy dived on a loose ball for No 2, then Rick Campbell bagged his first try of the season, with Coe converting for 19-0.
Centre Harry Sutton had a try disallowed for Gosford, but he managed a legitimate score after the break from Tom Barrett’s off-load.
Oxford hit back with tries from Lynchsmith and Phil Longuet-Higgins, Coe converting one.
Coe slotted a penalty after Gosford flanker Dan Hughes was yellow-carded, but the visitors kept battling, with fly half Tim Sutton sending flanker Alex Webb thundering over.
Oxford’s final try saw hooker Andy McDonald go over, set up by Will Thompson, with Coe converting.
Alchester won a thriller 25-24 at Thatcham, while Abingdon had to give Drifters a walkover.
In Division 1 South, Littlemore beat Tadley 2nd 29-12, with lock Darren Warne scoring two tries on his birthday.
Warne found a big hole in the defence to notch his first, with hooker Jim Smith, No 8 Kevin Watkins also going over before Warne’s second.
Lee Gillett kicked three conversions and a penalty.
