Oxford Hawks played their best hockey of the season to demolish fellow mid-table Premier 2 team Ashford 7-0 away in the Men's South League.
Hawks made the long trip to Kent and then gave the home side a lesson.
They started brightly and Steve Collier scored after some poor control from a home defender in the D.
Hawks made it two with a Nick Ferraby drag-flick and soon after, a well-worked move was rounded off by Ferraby at the far post.
No fewer than seven players were involved in the build-up for goal No 4, with Sam Chilvers finishing off the move of the season.
The second half started with an expected fightback, and Hawks stood firm to early pressure, with the defence holding strong.
They quickly extended their lead with a tap-in for Todd Hutcheson.
Chilvers got his second of the game soon after with a deft lift over the keeper, and Holt rounded off the scoring with a short-corner drag-flick.
On Sunday, Hawks faced Eastbourne at Banbury Road North, and kept their unbeaten run since Christmas going with a 3-3 draw, Fred Coppin tapped in at the far post, but Eastbourne were quick to respond with a drag flick.
With Ferraby hitting a post from a drag-flick, Hawks then began to dominate and soon scored through Ferraby at a short corner.
Eastbourne again replied to make it 2-2 at half-time.
Martin was denied by the post, and when Hawks went down to ten with Ben Battcock spending time in the sin bin, Eastbourne capitalised and made the score 3-2 after a scramble in the D following a short corner.
With the final play of the game, Hawks were awarded a short corner and Holt stepped up to convert and keep the unbeaten run intact.
Banbury, by contrast, put in their worst performance of the season as they lost 4-1 at Purley in Premier Division 1.
Playing against relegation rivals, Banbury knew three points would probably keep them up, but they were outclassed.
Two down at half-time, they felt aggrieved that Purley made it three by converting a short corner that deflected off the shoulder of Dave Clarke.
Adrian Simons struck home a reverse stick shot to pull one back, but Purley converted another penalty to seal it.
Goals from Rich Beer, Joe Brownhill, James Neilson and Andy Wynd brought Rover Oxford a 4-1 victory over Wallingford in the Regional division, Nick Golding replying.
Greg Horne scored a first-half brace as Rover Oxford 2nd clinched a 4-0 victory at Wokingham in Regional 2.
The second half saw resolute some defending, plus two further calm finishes from Matt Neilson.
