Fairford Tn 0, Wantage Tn 1
A GOAL from Danny Keen ten minutes from time kept Wantage in touch with the Premier Division leaders on Saturday.
A lively Fairford dominated the first half, but Wantage managed to weather the storm.
The second half saw Wantage produce a much better account of themselves.
After dominating for long periods, Tom Austin started a move from nothing as he set up Gavin Jones.
Under pressure, Jones produced a pinpoint cross to Keen, who made no mistake as he headed home.
Late on, Tom Rowe came to Wantage’s rescue when he cleared a goalbound shot off the line.
Ardley Utd 2, Kidlington 0
ARDLEY United won this dour derby clash with Kidlington – their first victory against the Yarnton Road side in almost two years.
It was a game which saw little in terms of goalmouth action, but was won in the first half.
Following misses by Stuart Bridges and Harry Brock, centre half Danny Mason’s flicked header from a long Adam Beckett throw put Ardley in front.
The lead was doubled six minutes before the break after the Kidlington defence failed to attack an Adam Richmond free-kick, allowing Troy Bryan to head in No 2.
The second half was a poor spectable, with neither goalkeeper being tested.
However, any slim hope Kidlington had of getting back into the game disappeared when Jack Johnson was sent off for a second bookable offence.
Witney Utd 0, Binfield 2
WITNEY United, playing their fourth game in eight days, went down to a Binfield side who extended their winning run to eight successive matches.
Witney’s their cause was not helped when striker Gary Wickens limped off after just 15 minutes.
The visitors took the lead just after the half-hour when Callum Whitty slotted home from Jack Tallentire’s cross.
Seven minutes later, the lead was doubled when a corner was swung in under the bar and Ian Davies scored.
Andrew Younie saw a goalbound header well-saved by Binfield keeper Chris Adams, while Anaclet Odhiambo’s late effort was grabbed at the second attempt.
