Dual Oxford/Swindon trainer Nick Colton is hoping to solve a shortage of kennels by having some new ones built in Tipperary.
Colton, a regular visitor to the big races in the Emerald Isle, says he is finding it increasingly difficult to find alternative kennel accommodation.
He already has property there and this should ease his problems in the future.
He is aiming Tic Tic Boom at the Irish Grand National, which he has won before with Joe Bananas.
l THE racing office rate Farloe Ellie as the top bitch at the Stadium, and in the running for top dog is Orion Ben, winner of six of his eight races.
He has the same ownership as last year’s Dog of the Year in Northeven Blue – both trained by Terry Kibble.
l THE Richard Yeates-trained Mixababe pulled off a surprise 10-1 victory in an open at Romford, while Paddy Curtin’s Farloe Ferdinand takes in an open at Hall Green.
l FREEZING conditions which have led to non-watering of the track, mean the going has been on the slow side of late.
Watering will resume as soon as the frosty conditions ease.
