It was a true family affair for the Watsons as Eynsham, bottom of Division 2, sprang a surprise as they beat Division 1 outfit Fieldside 2-1 in the Oxford & District Billiards League, writes DICK HASHMAN.
Dean Watson (+50) lost the opening game 118-150 to Norman Woodcock (+50).
But Dean’s brother, Robert, (+50) defeated Mike Chapman (+70) 150-132.
And father Geoff (+100) won the match when he surprised Bob Chivers (-30) 200-180.
New Club won their fifth consecutive match to stretch their lead at the top of Division 1.
Their victims this week were Division 2 leaders Riley B, with wins from Alan King, Dave White and Alan Mander giving them a 3-0 success.
Thame returned to the top of Division 2, despite a 2-1 defeat against Ashton.
John Street put Ashton in front, and although Peter Hawkes levelled, Terry Chambers secured Ashton’s win when he defeated Tom Fletcher 200-194 in the deciding match.
