Oxfordshire's Matt Thomas has been named in the England Under 16 squad for next month’s Four Nations tournament in Rome.
The lock, who attends Shiplake College and is part of Wasps Academy, is in the 26-man squad, who will play Italy, France and Wales.
- SYED Hashimi scored a brace of tries as Oxfordshire Under 14s defeated Warwickshire 20-12 at Chinnor.
The Cheney School pupil and Oxford Harlequins junior notched in each half, with scrum half Ben Pointon (Rugby School) and lock Will Briggs (Banbury) also crossing the line.
Flanker Amrik Virdi and lock Connor Burnett scored Warwickshire’s tries, fly half George Deagan converting.
Oxon’s under 15s were also successful, defeating Warwickshire 24-15.
Wing Piers Chen (Henley), hooker Owyn Thatcher (Henley), flanker Josh Poole (Witney) and lock Max Murison (Henley) scored Oxfordshire’s tries, with fly half Tom Wells (Oxford) and full back Peter Moore (Abingdon School) adding conversions.
Wing Nick Finnegan (2) and centre Ollie Griffin were on target for Warwickshire.
