SAM Deering has agreed a new two-year deal with Oxford United.
The 19-year-old has been in fine form since reestablishing himself in the side after a broken leg, and was pleased to pledge his future to The U’s: “I am enjoying my football and it is great to be part of what is happening here," he told United's website.
"The manager and coaches have been great with me and I feel that my game is developing all the time. The whole club is moving forwards and I want to try and play as big a part in that as I can.
"The fans in particular have been brilliant with me and I would love to give them something to celebrate this season and over the next couple of years.”
Boss Chris Wilder said: “I think this is very positive news for the club.
"Sam has so much promise and provided he works hard and listens to the right people then he has a bright future ahead of him."
