SUPERSUB Tomasz Mazur’s late goal gave Mid Oxon Under 14s a 2-1 victory at Stroud in the Vale Cup – and set up a title decider against Cheltenham at Ardley United tomorrow (7.15).
Mazur produced a cool finish a minute from time to give Mid Oxon the points in the league-based competition.
Mid Oxon had fallen behind midway through the first half, and it wasn’t until 15 minutes from time that they equalised through Ryan Heap.
Josh Lathey then volleyed against the Stroud bar following a corner, before Mazur had the last word.
Meanwhile, Mason Curtis was another last-gasp hero as Vale of White Horse Under 13s beat Banbury & District 2-1 at North Newington to keep their hopes alive of retaining the Meeson Trophy.
Curtis had been the supplier for Vale’s opener late in the first half, setting up Alex Thomas to score from close range.
Banbury equalised early in the second half, Lewis Reeves-Smith driving the ball home from 12 yards, but Curtis gave Vale the points in the last minute.
