South West 1 East
Ralph Smith scored all Wallingford’s points in a 13-8 victory at Trowbridge.
Wing Smith put the visitors ahead with a penalty after they made a decent start.
Trowbridge’s big forwards then took control as Wallingford’s discipline dropped and an overthrown line-out led to Barry Coombs scoring.
Ashley Chalk slotted a penalty soon afterwards, but Wallingford were level at the break after centre Pete Holton fed Smith to run in from 35 metres.
Wallingford dealt better with Trowbridge’s physicality in the second half and scored the winning try when replacement Jackson Sayce cut through the defence and fed Smith for his second.
The visitors survived a nervy finish in which hooker Tom Hill was sin-binned.
