Oxford United manager Chris Wilder has been handed a double boost with the news that injured duo James Constable and Adam Murray are on the mend.
A scan showed that Constable, who missed the 1-1 draw at Cambridge United with an ankle injury, could be back for next week’s match at home to Hayes & Yeading.
And Murray came through 75 minutes of the Oxfordshire Senior Cup clash at Oxford City at Court Place Farm, which United won 2-1.
He too comes into contention.
Wilder said of Constable: “The scan showed that the injury is not too serious, but we’ll be careful with him.
“We won’t take any chances, so we’ll just see how he is in training.”
Murray’s appearance was his first since mid-January.
The skipper has been missing with a back injury, but showed show few signs of a problem as United reached the final with goals from Ashley Cain – his first for the U’s – and a controversial effort from Jamie Cook.
