Young striker Nabil Shariff could be handed a starting place in Banbury United’s Zamaretto Southern League Premier Division clash at home to Chippenham Town on Tuesday night.
Shariff proved a real menace when he came on as substitute, winning the crucial penalty in Saturday’s 3-1 victory against Merthyr Tydfil, and boss Billy Jeffrey was full of praise for the on-loan Rushden striker.
“He played very well when he came on,” said Jeffrey. “Although I can’t say he will start, because I have to check our injury situation, he is definitely in the frame.”
Joe Coleman (ankle) and Jack Ashton (groin) face late fitness tests on the injuries they suffered against Merthyr.
Abingdon United assistant boss Darren Edwards has warned the players against complacency when they travel to Bracknell Town in Division 1 South & West.
Meanwhile, North Leigh entertain Horspath in the quarter-finals of the Oxfordshire Senior Cup.
