Oxford Harlequins hung on for a battling 15-7 victory at Cleve, their first at the Bristol outfit, despite being reduced to 14 men.
No 8 Jason Welburn was sent off after receiving a second yellow card in the 69th minute, but Quins held on with flanker Ryan Newman outstanding in defence.
Left wing Xavier Andre went close for Quins early on, but the visitors scored from the resulting line-out.
Lock Morgan Cross claimed the ball and flanker Tim Knapp was driven over.
Fly half Jeff Stewart put Quins 8-0 ahead with a 15th-minute penalty.
Scrum-half Anthony Cope and Stewart set up centre Dominic Maley to go storming over for a superb try, Stewart converting.
Welburn received his first yellow card before his opposite number, Sam Roach, squeezed over and right wing Dan Ajuwa converted.
Cleve attacked for much of the second half, but Quins centres Dom Maley and Martin Nutt put in some great tackles.
With Welburn, Newman and Knapp also combining well in defence, there was no way through for Cleve.
