Hungerford Tn 0
North Leigh 1 (Allen 77)
Substitute Chris Allen made an instant impact with North Leigh’s winner at Hungerford Town in Division 1 South & West.
Allen had only been on the pitch two minutes when he notched the winner 13 minutes from time.
North Leigh should have taken the lead after just three minutes when a fast-flowing move ended with Stuart Hole’s shot hitting the side netting.
Ben Reardon was also just off target before Matty Taylor set-up Simon Futcher and his hooked effort cleared the bar.
Reardon squandered another good opportunity, firing over after good work from Taylor, before Andy Caton ran through from his own half only to shoot wide.
North Leigh were almost caught on the break just after the hour mark, but James Lewis shot wide and Bradley Clark was off target when he followed up Adam Lonsdale’s parried save.
Manager Mark Gee made a double substitution with 15 minutes left, and was rewarded within two minutes as Futcher’s low cross reached Allen on the corner of the Hungerford area and his low strike beat James Foster for his first goal of the campaign.
North Leigh: Lonsdale, Hole, Caton, Jackson, Huxley, Dodds, Reardon (Allen 75), Burnell (Posey 75), Taylor (Saunders 82), McCabe, Futcher.
Attendance: 102.
