Franny Green gave Oxford United a half-time lead at Chelmsford in their FA Trophy third-round tie today.
Playing up front after scoring twice in United's Oxfordshire Senior Cup win at Kidlington in midweek, he showed superb technique in scoring with a right-footed volley, at stretch, from Kevin Sandwith's left-wing cross in the 40th minute.
Franny Green had replaced leading scorer James Constable in United's starting line-up.
The match survived a 12 noon pitch inspection but the surface was fine albeit hard and bobbly.
