Berinsfield's Jordan Flynn claimed his second Home Counties schoolboy title without having to lace a glove as the title trail got under way last weekend.
Flynn was unchallenged in the Class 2 (under 14 years) 46 kg division and is now through to the national quarter-finals on February 6.
The 2009 champion is joined by fellow Berinsfield prospect Liam Joseph, who had a walkover in the Class 3 (under 15 years) bantamweight category.
Meanwhile, there were contrasting fortunes for the Townsend brothers – Bradley and Declan – from the Oxford Boxing Academy.
Bradley is through to the Home Counties final in the Class 3 52kg category where he will meet Terry O’Reilly of Milton Keynes for a place in the last eight of the competition.
But, despite dominating the early stages of his bout, younger brother Declan bowed out by a narrow points margin to Liam Loughran of the Markyate gym in the Class 2 50kg Home Counties semi-final.
There were some polished performances in the support bouts from some of Berinsfield’s newer recruits.
A succession of strategic right hands had the desired impact on taller Bracknell rival Reece Herbert as 13 year-old Edward Reilly romped to his second consecutive win in as many outings.
Showing greater mobility within the ring and displaying more variety in his shots, the Berinsfield teenager gave the judges an easy task.
And 16 year-old middle-weight Brendan Gorman also remains unbeaten after gaining win number two over Blackbird Leys rival Josh Trafford.
He set the pace from bell to boss the first two sessions – Trafford’s late rally could not erode the deficit and he could not argue against the unanimous verdict.
Mark McDonagh remained game throughout, but emerged on the wrong side of a split decision to taller Jubilee rival Owen Flanagan.
Sunningwell’s Ibrahim Razaq, 15, was unlucky not to see his arm raised after his debut against Jubilee rival Aaron Berry, who prevailed by the slimmest of margins.
