Hellenic Leaguers Kidlington took a strong Oxford United side to extra time in the Oxfordshire Senior Cup quarter-final on Wednesday night before the U’s edged through 3-2.
United, who fielded several first-teamers, had Billy Turley to thank for some fine saves, but he was beaten by Jack Quainton, who put Kidlingtion ahead.
Franny Green scored a fine equaliser after good work by Adam Chapman to make it 1-1 at the break.
Jordan Parker restored the home side’s lead, but within two minutes United were level through Jamie Cook’s rasping shot.
With Kidlington tiring in extra time, Franny Green struck again with another fine drive from the edge of the box to make it 3-2.
Kidlington sub Lee Rendell had a goal ruled out in the dying seconds.
Oxford United: Turley, Chapman, Owen (Parish 90), Creighton, Sandwith (West h/t), Fowler, Dobson, Groves, Cook, M Green (Woodley 77), F Green. Subs not used: McDonagh, Silver.
