Cherwell School (Oxford) marched on in the ESFA Under 14 Premier League Schools’ Cup sixth round with a 2-1 home win over Chace School (Enfield).
Michael Raff and Duran Martin’s cracking strike gave Cherwell the edge.
They now entertain Queens (Watford & District) or South Wigston (South Leicestershire) in the last 16.
St Birinus School (Didcot) suffered a heartbreaking 3-0 penalty shoot-out defeat against Bitterne Park School (Southampton) in the ESFA Under 13 Schools’ Cup sixth round.
Jack Brown grabbed an equaliser for St Birinus in the dying minutes as normal time finished 1-1, but after extra time failed to produce a winner, Bitterne Park proved the deadlier from the spot.
Larkmead School (Abingdon) suffered an agonising 3-2 defeat by Castle School (Bristol & South Gloucestershire) in the ESFA Under 16 RAF Schools’ Girls’ Cup first round.
Rebecca Dixon and Claire Chewings netted in normal time for Larkmead, who missed a penalty in extra time after Castle scored again.
