Witney's assistant coach John Campbell admitted his side took time to get going during their ultimately empahtic 36-0 win against Beaconsfield.
He said: “We just looked as if we had not played that much.
“At half time, we said play it positively because we were kicking too many balls away.
“Once we started trusting the players around us and off-loading, we did much better.
“Beaconsfield defended brilliantly and played the ref well.
“They were probably a bit more streetwise than us at the breakdown, which is something we need to learn, but it was still a pleasing display.”
Campbell added: “I didn’t think we would play on that pitch today.
“But we were out there in the morning clearing the surface water off and that seemed to do it.”
