Oxford City Stars face a crucial double-header against the Isle of Wight raiders this weekend.
And the outcome of the two matches could shape the rest of their season.
The teams sit next to each other in the table, and two victories for either side would all but end the other’s chances of success for the campaign.
The Oxford side features several ex-Wightlink players, including prolific forward Alan Green and sturdy defender Andrew Shurmer.
Neither played in the previous games between the two sides, which the Raiders shaded.
Oxford go into the match on the back of a thumping victory over Streatham, while the Raiders beat basement boys Peterborough Islanders.
New coach Ken Forshee is positive on Stars’s chances, and if they can repeat last week’s performance, which saw them run out 12-3 winners, they should prove hard to beat.
