Oxford City junior Imogen Kempton produced one of her best performances ever in the Chiltern Cross Country League as she finished in fourth place in the under 15 girls’ race at Shuttleworth Park, Luton.
Kempton finished only five seconds behind runner-up Sky Draper.
Her performance, alongside Elissa Clarke’s 18th and Rebecca Byren’s 19th put City’s girls into the silver medal position in the team competition behind Bedford & County.
In the combined under 17/20 women’s race, Ellie Burns led home her teammates in 22nd place, while Beth Mulvany was 56th in the under 13 girls’ event.
Laura Burgoine led home City’s senior women in 42nd place, ahead of Christine Marshall (68th) and Clair Grierson (74th).
John Robertson (22nd) was the leading runner in the senior men’s competition, while Harry Robertson crossed the line 13th in the under 17 boys’ race.
Mattthieu Marshall was 17th and Josh Tack 21st in the under 15 boys’ event.

Beth Hawtin finished fifth in the under 13 girls’ race, Storm Sunderland crossing the line in 13th.
In the under 15 girls’ event, Lauren Hawtin finished fourth - her best ever performance at a UK Challenge meeting.
Melissa Hawtin was in fine form in the under 17 girls’ race, finishing in third position.
