Two goals from Rich Beer helped Rover Oxford to a 5-2 win at British Airways in the MBB&O Regional division of the men’s South League.
A lot of matches fell victim to last week’s snow and frost, with Rover Oxford’s game the only one played in their division.
Daniel Smyth, Chris Way and Andy Wynd got Rover’s other goals, with Avtar Matharu and Sandeep Matharu netting for British Airways.
Rover climbed to sixth as a result of their victory.
Banbury 2nd drew 2-2 with Milton Keynes 2nd, Steve Trivett and Robin Parker getting the goals.
All Oxford Hawks men’s matches were cancelled, apart from the Senators, who beat Winchester veterans 3-1 thanks to goals from Ed Baldock, John Kaluza and Neil Jones.
But Oxford Hawks Ladies teams saw some action.
The 1st XI drew 2-2 at home to Northampton Saints in a friendly, with Kathryn Spen-cer getting one of their goals.
The other goal came from a Northampton player, who Hawks borrowed because they didn’t have the full 11.
Oxford Hawks 2nd were beaten 2-0 at home by West Hampstead in Division 3A of the Women’s South Clubs League.
In the same division, City of Oxford suffered a blow to their promotion hopes as they were beaten 6-2 at fifth-placed Teddington 2nd.
City of Oxford remain four points behind leaders Wycombe.
