Oxford went top of the table after a battling 15-6 home victory over Stow-on-the Wold.
With Broadmoor Staff not playing, Oxford went two points clear.
Duncan Lynchsmith opened the scoring for Oxford with a 15th-minute try, with Dominic Coe soon adding a penalty.
Stow replied with a penalty of their own, but Oxford took control on the half-time whistle when Stuart Waknell scored following a five-metre line-out, Coe converting.
The visitors managed a second penalty after the break, but Oxford were content to see it through.
Gosford All Blacks threw away the lead to lose 17-8 at Phoenix.
Wing Tim Ellis was stopped just short as Gosford dominated early on, but scrum half Lars Turner’s try put Phoenix 5-0 ahead.
Ellis reduced the arrears with a penalty, then centre Harry Sutton set up wing Marc Grant to score in the corner.
Phoenix regained the lead on 55 minutes with a try from No 8 Charlie Hurd, converted by Chris Laidlaw and Jason Townsend’s score sealed the win.
Gosford twice passed up kickable penalties in a late rally.
