City of Oxford ace Alex Vessey won three gold medals in the Abingdon Vale open meeting held at the weekend.
More than 200 nine to 15- year-olds, representing ten clubs in Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire competed in ten events and 14-year -old Vessey led Oxford’s medal haul.
He home in the 100m butterfly in 1 min 12 secs followed by 200m medley (2mins 44secs) and touching first in the 100m freestyle (1 min 3 secs).
He also got silver in the 100m backstroke (1min 16secs).
There were also victories for Jessica Ramsay, 10, in the 50m butterfly (44.51 secs), Robert Young, 10, in the 50m freestyle (35.05 secs), Georgina King-Smith, 14, (1 min 18 secs), and Alex Chung, 12, in the 100m breaststroke (1 min 36 secs).
Olivia Webster, 10, (50m butterfly); Emma Sherwood, 14, (100m breaststroke); and Georgina King-Smith, 14, (100m freestyle) all struck silver.
There were also bronze medals for Alex Chung, 12, (100m backstroke); Abigail Teasdale, 10, (50m breaststroke); James Oliver, 10, 50m backstroke; and Evie Murrell, 14, (100m freestyle).
