While the big freeze has scuppered most of the weekend’s sporting action, Oxford City Stars are hopeful that their English National League Division 1 South match with runaway leaders Invicta Dynamos will go ahead on Sunday at Oxpens Road.
But although the ice and snow would obviously not affect the match itself, with more snow forecast, the Kent side may struggle to travel to Oxford, and so the game remains in some doubt.
Assuming it does go ahead, Stars will certainly have their work cut out against the best side in the league.
They have faced the runaway leaders twice this season, both clashes being held at the Ice Bowl in Gillingham.
Dynamos, who top the league by seven points, have won both games convincingly, 11-3 in the first match and 11-2 in the second, and have lost only twice all season.
Stars will have to make do without Juraj Rusic, who suffered a dislocated shoulder in last weekend’s defeat to Bracknell Hornets.
However, Ken Forshee, who has previously played for Dynamos, will be keen to put on a good display against his former teammates.
Face off scheduled for 6.15pm.
