Luke Foster has had talks with Cambridge United, it’s understood, following United’s decision to let him speak to other clubs during the January transfer window.
The move has surprised some U’s fans, because Foster has been very consistent at the back, and is an excellent tackler, blocker and reader of danger.
Wilder says he is not under any pressure to let someone go, as a result of bringing in Jake Wright and Anthony Tonkin.
“No, I’ve been under no pressure from Kelvin (Thomas) to lighten the load,” Wilder admitted.
“I feel we’ve done really good business over the past couple of weeks.
“The squad is always evolving. That’s my way of managing.
Wilder added: “If you ask me, was the squad at the start of the season stronger than at the end of last season, even when we’d had that great run, I would say yes.
“And if you ask me, is my squad stronger now than it was at the start of the season, I’d say yes again.”
