Wallingford may have been lucky in getting a game last week, but they are counting the cost after suffering two serious injuries.
During their 37-20 victory over Buckingham in South West 1 East – one of few games to beat the weather – both fly half Angus Brettell and centre Jon Collett had to go off injured.
Brettell was later discovered to have broken an eye socket, while Collett damaged a medial knee ligament.
Both face a few weeks on the sidelines.
If the big freeze persists for as long as forecast, they might not miss too many games.
Wallingford are due to visit Salisbury on Saturday.
Coach Chris Norrington has named a squad, but does not expect the game to be played.
Oxford Harlequins coach John Brodley has not even bothered to pick a squad for their South West 1 trip to Maidenhead.
“We’ve been training inside at Oxford Brookes University, but I can’t see the game going ahead,” said Brodley.
Chinnor have been working inside their own gym in readiness for the long journey to Taunton.
“Even if the pitch is fit to play, there is still the problem in travelling,” said coach Jason Bowers.
Meanwhile, Henley Hawks are due to travel to Barnes in National 2 South.
But if, as expected, the game is called off, it would be Henley’s longest gap in the fixture list since the severe winter of 1963.
The game would have to be re-arranged for an evening kick-off in April as Barnes do not have floodlights.
Henley’s postponed game away at Southend will now take place on February 6, while Clifton will play at Dry Leas on March 13.
If the game is played, it would be the first outing for Will Fulton, since he was injured in the Rosslyn Park game on November 28.
They would, however, be without scrum half Ben Jones as he has now got a visa to live in the USA.
