Mason Curtis bagged a brace to help Vale of White Horse Under 13s beat Lea Valley 3-1 in the English Schools’ FA Trophy second round at Ware.
Vale, with Eima Meade outstanding in defence, opened the scoring when the keeper parried a shot from Jason McCabe, and Jared Jones headed home the rebound.
Curtis intercepted a pass and raced away to shoot over the keeper to increase Vale’s lead.
Lea Valley pulled a goal back on the stroke of half-time, but Curtis clinched victory with a tap-in early in the second half.l ZAC Field hit a hat-trick as Vale of White Horse Under 11s cruised to a 7-0 win at Letchworth & Baldock in the Southern Counties Cup first round at Wilbury Junior School.
James Tanner set Vale on the way, Field showed some great finishing then James Morrell struck twice. Luke Ballard’s 20-yarder wrapped it up.
VALE of White Horse Sch-ools 14s beat Mid Oxon 4-3 in a friendly at Chipping Norton.
Toby Arup, Conor Ingram, James Clarke and George Thatcher scored for Vale bef-ore Mid Oxon hit back through Harry Cornforth, Ryan Heap and Liam Botcherby.
MID Oxon Under 15s take on Nuneaton in the ESFA Trophy third round at Hook Norton FC tonight (7.30).
BURFORD’S Chris Mills has been called up by South West Under 18s to face the South East at Yeading on Sunday.
Oxford & Cherwell Valley College’s Luke Carnell is on the reserve list as the selection process continues for the England Under 18s squad.
Other Oxon lads in the SW trials were Oxford Academy’s Jordan Marsh, Mark Thomas and Ryan Simpson, Burford’s Mike Hedges and Sam Wright, Bicester’s Jordan Ayris, and Witney’s Sam Doherty.
