Jack Briggs bagged a hat-trick of tries as leaders Alchester routed Premier Division basement boys Harwell 57-12.

Centre Briggs’s treble came in the second half, but it was wing Andy Blacklock who got things moving with a try double.

Fly half Ali Smith converetd one of these before full back Adam White scored a superb solo try.

Harwell finished the half strongly, with Andy Lee crossing in the corner and Rob Douglas setting up James Shipman to score under the posts, Dave Beaven converting.

Alchester were relieved when skipper Dan Kimber pounced on a loose ball to score, then his side found their rhythm.

Briggs ran in his hat-trick, with Joe McAneaney and Steve Coogan also going over, while Smith finished with six conversions.

Gosford All Blacks lost 39-10 at Drifters after having to rearranage their team due to delays on the M40.
