Bridgwater Tn 0
Abingdon United clung on tenaciously for a draw after being reduced to ten men when defender James Organ was sent off in the second half of Saturday’s Division 1 South & West goalless draw at Northcourt Road.
Organ received his second yellow card for a late tackle ten minutes from time.
Bridgwater went all out for the winning goal. The home side brought everybody back to defend, but it needed a header off the line by Billy Beechers to secure a deserved point.
At the start , Beechers had tested Bridgwater keeper Tom Manley with a stinging shot.
But Bridgwater had the best of the chances. Keeper Jon Beames saved well twice from Brett Trowbridge and tipped over a shot from Steve Orchard.
After the break, James Faulkner and Jon Mills wasted good chances for Abingdon, as they came more into the game.
Abingdon Utd: Beames, Brown, Organ, Franklin, Peirson, McCalmon, Goodrham, Beechers, Mills (Ricketts 80), Faulkner, Weedon.Subs not used: Elkins. Haysham, Hunt, Gordon.
