Shock waves reverberated around Division 1 this week as Kidlington Saints beat leaders Rutherford 10-0.

Rutherford were without Neil Hurford, but even so it was a remarkable scoreline for Andy Misseldine, Jason Tustain and Mike Wilkins.

In a stroke, they knocked Rutherford off the top spot and made it clear they are again the team to watch out for.

Earlier, a two-man Saints side took on Gladiators A and beat them 7-3.

Misseldine and Tustain did the business for Saints, but Dave Ralls, of Gladiators, almost caused an upset by taking Misseldine all the way in the decider before going down 12-10.

Forum A took over from Rutherford at the top thanks to the point they got in a 6-4 defeat by clubmates Forum B.

Karl Bushell notched up another maximum for Forum A, but a good team performance by Greg Boone, Andrew Flint and Ellis Bicknell proved decisive to give Forum B a rare victory over their A side.

Vikings C enjoyed their first victory in Division 1, taking maximum points from Gladiators A as they won 8-2.

Markus Wagner led the way, and was supported by David Mottershead and John Birkin.

A John Barclay maximum allowed British Rail to beat Vikings A 7-3.

In Division 2, Eamonn Deeley and Paul Borrowdale were in form as they beat Forum D 7-3, then Gladiators B 6-4, with Deeley undefeated.

Forum D saw off Haddenham A 6-4, thanks to maximum each for Chris Smith and Bob Hallett.
