Berinsfield’s Joe Bolton, 15, stormed through to the semi- finals of th ABA junior novice championships with a demonstration of power and precision that rocked rival Jack Taylor at Bristol.
Bolton bossed this class A 66 kg encounter from the bell as he rammed home the jab before following through with strategically landed combinations.
A six-punch cluster concluded with a precise and powerful right hand made his teenage Coombe Martin opponent wobble to prompt a standing count in the final 20 seconds of the three-round clash.
Taylor managed to remain upright until the bell offered him the sanctuary of his corner and could not argue with the comprehensive points victory awarded to Bolton.
Blackbird Leys southpaw Les Hill, 16, was also successful at the quarter-finals with a split decision over Ilfracombe’s Danny Waters following their class B featherweight clash.
After two roundsthere was little to split the pair, but a sustained effort from the Oxford boxer in the final session did enough to sway the judges.
Oxford Boxing Academy’s Ben Kaluza, 16, was in dominant form at Milton Keynes as he dished out a lesson in the noble art to Sandy rival Ermail Mustafa.
The Bicester light welterweight imposed his authority over his taller rival from the start as he stretched out the jab to pierce the guard.
Mustafa was hanging on at every opportunity, especially in the final minute after being rocked by a succession of solid right hands.
And 15 year-old Berinsfield bantamweight Will Healy also had his arm raised in triumph at the same venue after a convincing win over Steve Wood from the host gym.
He picked off his Milton Keynes rival with precise jabs and neat combinations to give the judges an easy task.
