Steventon showjumper Ami Measor (above) and Belle Fleur continued their impressive run by booking a second successive appearance at the British Open Amateur Championship at the NEC next April.

Fresh from finishing third at the Horse of the Year Show at the Birmingham venue, the 22-year-old won a qualifying event for the Open at Crofton Manor in Hampshire.

She came out on top after going clear on the eight-year-old mare, from Jane Dexter’s Blewbury Riding Stables, in the jump off in the Winter Grade C qualifier.

The victory saw Measor secure just one of two places available for the Open in which she finished sixth last year.

LARA Griffith, from Milton-under-Wychwood, collected two awards at the British Dressage National Convention held at Addington Manor in Buckinghamshire.

The 20-year-old, who rode Leonie Porter’s Dawning Hopes, was the highest-placed British competitor at the European Championship and was then adjudged the most improved young rider.
