Banbury batsmen stole the show in the opening round of matches of the Oxfordshire Indoor League as they crushed Dorchester by a massive 142 runs and Kingston Bagpuize by 65 runs.
Against Dorchester, Banbury amassed a huge total of 187 all out from their 12 overs, Steve Beck hitting 53no and Ed Phillips 29 not out.
Ollie Murrey (26no) and Simon Launder (25no) also contributed.
In reply, Dorchester managed only 45-4.
Launder top-scored with 38 not out for Banbury against Kingston Bagpuize.
Batting first again, Banbury rattled up 121-3, Beck contrbuting 26 not out and Ian Hawtin 23.
Bagpuize were then shot out for 56, Hawtin taking 3-10.
Cropredy fell to their first defeat as they were beaten by three wickets against Middleton Cheney in Division 3 of the Banbury Indoor League.
Batting first, Cropredy posted 86 all out, Barry White starring for Middleton Cheney with 4-8.
In reply, Matt Stevens (25no) saw Middleton Cheney to 87-3 with five balls remaining.
Charlbury A saw off Deddington by 11 runs.Craig Moss (25no) saw Charlbury to 112-4 in their ten overs, before Deddington were all out for 101, Cameron Geekie taking 3-31 and Sam Smith hitting 41.
Marston Saint Lawrence edged past Preston Capes A by four runs.
Seb Thornton (25no) and Jamie Jennings (24) shone in Marston’s 111-2, and then Preston were restricted to 107-4.
Broughton & North Newington eased past Hinton by 41 runs.
They rattled up 100-3, before dismissing Hinton for just 59, Ollie Wright taking 3-29 and Steve Palmer 2-26.
