Oxford Waltonian fished their Teams of Three on the Thame at Wheatley where the six teams struggled with the weather conditions, but some big barbel put in an appearance.
Several anglers suffered damage to umbrellas and pole sections.
Drawing a peg with a bit of shelter, Steve Morton fished the pole and maggot putting together a winning 29.0.0, comprising seven chub to 5.10.0. Paul Bowers also got in amongst the chub, catching four of them on maggot for a second-placed 12.15.0.
The unluckiest angler was Lionel Knight who weighed in 12.12.0 for third. He fished a stick float with maggot and netted a 11.9.0 barbel, but lost another three monsters, even after changing his line strength and rig.
The winning team were Bowers 3 (Paul Bowers, Dale Bowers, Anthony Currell).
