Lucy Brown continues her rapid rise up the world junior tennis rankings after some storming displays on her tour of Asia.
Brown, 16, from Elsfield, near Oxford, produced arguably a career-best display to be runner-up in an ITF Grade 2 event in Nanthaburi, Thailand.
Brown did it the hard way, having to win two qualifying matches in order to reach the main draw.
On the way to the final, she defeated home player Sankaew Napatsakorn 6-3, 6-4 in the quarter-finals.
Brown then stunned world junior No 8 Miyabi Inoue (Japan) 7-5, 7-5 to set up a final against Haochen Tang, from China.
Her opponent had a 100 per cent ITF record of 36 wins from 36 matches, having only dropped two sets on the way.
But she was stunned by in-form Brown who won the opener 6-4.
Trailing 5-1 in the second, Brownfought back to take the set to a tie-break, only to lose it 7-6.
Her efforts had taken their toll, and Tang won the decider 6-0 to claim the title.
However, six wins against high-ranked players sees Brown climb to 134 in the world.
