The lead changed hands several times before Alex Webb’s try and Tim Ellis’s conversion put Gosford 26-18 up, but they could not hold on.
Elliott Newell (2) and Harry Sutton also scored for Gosford, with Ellis converting two, but Will Bevan (2) and Matthew Hicks went over for Stow and Adams kicked 13 points.
A try from skipper Greg Arthy, converted by Paul Costello, was little consolation as a depleted Didcot side lost 54-7 to Division 2 South leaders Slough 2nd.
