Abingdon fought back to climb to fourth in Division 1 South & West with victory against their ten-man opponents.
However, victory was not without cost, striker James Faulkner going off with a possible broken bone in his foot.
Paul Killick fired in the opener for Hayes after some early pressure.
Against the run of play, Abingdon levelled when Faulkner curled his shot beyond the keeper.
In the second half, Vicente hammered a shot goalwards, but Jon Beames pulled off a decent save.
Abingdon went ahead through a JP Mills penalty after Vince Rispoli pushed Matty Haysham, the Hayes player sent off for the foul.
Abingdon then held on for victory.
