Almondsbury 5 (Mapstone 6, Stearn 31, 80, Andrews 35, Kabba 70)

Ardley United 3 (Gordon 11, Bryan 82, Bryan 85)

A late comeback proved in vain for Ardley United as their recent good run was halted by the Premier Division title-chasers on Saturday (FTL Futbol Hellenic league).

Trailing 5-1, it looked all over for Kevin Brock’s men, but two late goals set up an exciting finale.

Marcus Mapstone broke the deadlock for Almondsbury, only for Leon Gordon to net at the far post after good work from Adam Beckett.

Ross Stearn restored Almon-dsbury’s lead when Brad Andrews volleyed home from 15 yards.

After the break, substitute Sahr Kabba made it 4-1 with Stearne netting his second with No 5.

But Ardley didn’t give up, with Gordon heading his second from Becektt’s cross before Troy Bryan got his head to a Tom Green corner.

But despite plenty of late pressure Ardley could not pull off an unlikely comeback.

Wantage Town 1 (Guy 57)

Binfield 1 (Whitty 15)

Wantage failed to win at home for the second week running.

They went behind whenJames Suarez found an unmarked Callum Whitty who struck the ball into the back of the net.

Wantage almost went 2-0 down, but keeper Rob Durrant denied Suarez.

After the break, Wantage dominated with Matt Biddle firing over, before Richard Guy equalised when he headed in following good work from Gavin Jones and Richard Claydon.

Wantage pressed for the winner, but the closest they came was a diving header from substitute Tom Rowe that hit the bar.

Witney United 6 (Younie 11, 30, R Johnson 19, 43, Henderson 59, Butler 75)

Bicester Town 0

Witney United produced a rousing display in front of their biggest league crowd of the season by thrashing strugglers Bicester at the Polythene UK Stadium on Friday night.

They broke the deadlock on when Andrew Younie finished clinically.

Ricky Johnson made it 2-0 when he headed in a Jon-Paul Mills cross.

Younie lobbed No 3, with Johnson crashing home a fourth.

After the break, Lee Henderson powered in a header from Tom Butler's corner to make it 5-0.

Butler then found the bottom corner of the net to complete a bad evening for Bicester who are still without a win.
