Didcot Barramundi’s Alex Murphy, 14, won gold in the English Schools National Championships at Crystal Palace.
His time of 1min 8.4secs in the year 10 and 11 100m breaststroke broke his own junior county and regional age group record. He also won bronze in the medley relay.
His win makes him a candidate for the ESSA England Schools team to take on Scotland, Wales and Ireland in Glasgow next year.
Younger brother, David, ten, won gold and silver in a gala at Aldershot.
He took the 200m breaststroke in 3.14.96 and was second in the 200m freestyle in 2.33.60.
