Oxfordshire's European kick-boxing champion Mahdi Mirzaee has completed a remarkable six months by being crowned world champion.
Mirzaee, 30, a kick-boxing instructor, from Langford, won the WUMA (World United Martial Arts) freestyle full contact European Cup at Worcester.
And last weekend Mirzaee, who hails from Iran, added the world 85kg crown after knocking out his rival, again at Worcester.
He won the title despite being 14kg lighter than his opponent.
To complete a great double, one of his students, Farhad Zabeti, from Oxford, also won the World Champ-ionship title in the 105kg+ division. Mirzaee said: “I was del-ighted to win. I really set out a tough punishing training schedule to win this event.”
