Eight Oxford fighters ret-urned from the European Karate Championships in Cyprus with a number of medals.
Anna James-Bott, 13, and Lee Wills, 22, both members of the Oxford Sport & Traditional Martial Arts Schools, fought off competitors from 15 countries to become European champions.
It was a highly successful tournament for the school, eight of whose 11 competitors came home with medals.
David Pleasted, 22, and Barry Batttson, 24, took silver medals, while Joseph Bonassisa, 12, Lloyd Anderson , 17, Rezo Agroba, 17, and Linsey Turnbull, 20, struck bronze.
Dan Brown, Tom Woosham-Davis and Samuel Carpenter, all 19, also competed.
Phil Patrick, coach of the school, who have a number of centres throughout the county, said: “I am extremly happy with our medallists, but also proud of the squad as a whole.”
