Martin Bull celebrated his call-up to the Oxfordshire squad with a brilliant 3-2 win over Preben Krabben, but still saw his Butchers Arms, Witney, side lose 6-3 away to White Hart, Harwell.
The high-class match contained no fewer than 24 ton-plus scores.
Dennis Smith had set second-placed White Hart on their way, before Wes Topley, Simon Davison and Paul Cross built up a 4-0 lead.
After Bull's epic, Dan Butler sealed the points for the home side, coming from 2-0 down to win his set.
Three Tuns are setting a strong early pace, with their two teams occupying places in the top three Tuns A lead the way on leg difference from White Hart after despatching Peachcroft 7-2, dropping only four legs in the process.
Steve Foster, Olly Varney, Phil Addison, Barry Stratford, Marcus Wright, Ade Larner and Jon Jukes were Tuns’ winners.
Tuns B matched their A side with a 7-2 win over Chequers Headington. Andy Brown set them on their way with a 3-1 win including a 137 outshot. John Russell doubled the lead, taking out a 144 finish.
Terry Wood and Ray Pape levelled the match up for Chequers.
Roger Haines put Tun's noses back in front before his father, Joe, added to the tally. Dan Smith, Stephen Wright and Lee Russell completed the rout.
Rothschild Arms (Aston Clinton) trounced White Lion B 9-0.
White Lion A came away from Black Bull Kidlington with a 5-4 win in a topsy-turvy encounter.
Brian Draper put Bull ahead, only for Roy Pryor and James Wiggins to reply.
Peter Fisher and Mark Burns put Bull 3-2 ahead before Kit Young and Steve Skelton re-sponded to make it 4-3 to Lion.
Shane Cooper levelled for the home team, leaving a final-set decider which Lion's John Fowler won 3-1.
Hundred Acres won 8-1 away to basement boys Grove House Club, Summertown. Joe Pal-mer, Kevin Middleton and Dave Buckingham all recorded 3-0 wins to set the visitors on their way.
