Banbury fancied their chances at home to Teddington, who hadn’t won all season, but they got off to a terible start and lost their Premier Division 1 match 2-1.
From the pushback, Teddington attacked quickly down their right and a cross to the back post was tapped in by Harry Wilder.
This was the only threat Teddington posed for the first half as Banbury dominated.
Banvbury failed to convert good chances, missing the target numerous times.
The second half was the same story as Banbury’s forwards became more and more frustrated.
Then, from a breakaway, Wilder grabbed his second.
Banbury’s pressure told eventually and a trademark routine at a short corner left Simon Boardman to deflect home, but it wasn’t enough.
Oxford Hawks recorded their first Premier Division 2 point of the season with a 3-3 draw at Wycombe.
Hawks conceded first from a short corner strike but they levelled from a fine move, Steve Collier tapping in at the far post.
Wycombe scored two quick goals at the start of the second half, but Hawks responded well, with Charlie Bennett inspired.
Chris Debney scored at the far post from Ferraby’s pass then Tom Coppin produced a Freddie Coppin-like finish.
Wycombe’s sub keeper was sent off just before the end for an horrific sliding tackle.
City of Oxford, missing Nick Perks and Chris Brougham, paid the price for missing chances as they lost 2-1 at home to Sonning 2nd in Division 1.
Charlie de Burgh shot them in front but Sonning hit back through a rebound from a short corner and won it with a reverse stick shot.
Dan Smythe’s brace brought Rover Oxford 2nd a 2-1 win at Hawks 2nd.
