John Street (+50) then beat Allan Copelin (+90) 150-141 to put Ashton 2-0 up.
Cowley Conservative Club A beat Eynsham 2-1 to go second.
Dick Hashman and Keith Pearce gave Cowley their wins.
Fieldside go third after their 2-1 win over Headington Conservative Club A.
Tony Palmer (+100) beat Mike Chapman (+70) 150-138, for Headington, but wins from both Bob Chivers (-30) and Paul Robinson (-60) earned Fieldside the win.
Division 2 leaders Thame beat Cowley Conservative Club B 2-1.
Thame's Tom Fletcher (+80) won the opener game, before Peter Hawkes clawed one back. Nigel Bossom (+10) beat Brian Mabbutt (+20) 200 -156 in the decider.
