Oxon & North Bucks’ Alex Murphy broke the county record for the 100m breaststroke in the British Gas National Team Championships at Ponds Forge, Sheffield.
Swimming in the 14/15 years age group, the Didcot Barramundi youngster recorded a time of 1min 6.27secs to beat the previous mark, which dated back to 1998.
Murphy also broke the South East Region under 16 100m short-course record, which stood previously at 1.07.05.
Meanwhile, nine Barramundi swimmers attended a weekend of training at Coventry with the All Stars team.
The highlight was a session with British international Melanie Marshall.
The two-day programme also included land training, mind games and nutritional advice from some of Britain’s leading experts.
Barramundi members invol-ved included Olly Ripley, Yassmine Girgis, Daniella Springett, Poppy Concannon, Hollie Bristow, David Murphy and Ricky Martin.
Barramundi swimmers also took part in a competitive swimming day in Coventry sponsored by the Luke Jeffrey Memorial Trust.
