Oxford City Stars suffered mixed fortunes – beating Bracknell 3-1 before going down by the same scoreline to Chelmsford Chieftains 24 hours later.
The results leave Stars fifth in the Division 1 table, having won four and lost four this season.
Oxford were up against it from the off against Bracknell, goalkeeper Glen Jackson making ten saves to keep them on level terms.
In the second period, Andy Cox fired them in front, only for Bracknell to equalise.
However, strikes from debutant Yousif Abu Saada and Dean Francis in the final period gave Stars the win.
The game against undefeated Chelmsford was a mirror-image of the previous clash.
Goalless after the opening period, 1-1 after the second, only for Chelmsford to score twice in the third to claim victory.
Yousif Abu Saada made it two goals in two days, but Stars fell just short and suffered defeat.
